History of Diagnosis

Diagnosis is a process of the identification of the diseased condition of any man or a woman by the help of the signs and the symptoms present. The diagnosis of any disease condition is the primary work of any Physician. The ancient civilization of mankind said that the physician was considered to be the savior for all the human beings. In the earlier times the people, who were saints and involved in activities such as the removal of disease with the help of spiritual process from the internals of the patient were also considered to be Physician.

Their diagnosis was based on the premises that all the disease was due to the spirits inside the man. As the scientific developments took place these superstitions of people slowly and gradually vanished. The fact that the disease of any person may be due to the threat of the Gods in the Heaven because of the wrong deeds of the person was also nullified. These were diagnosed definitely, but were not up to the mark. These diagnoses were made because of the lack of awareness among people.

Moving further ahead we also saw that after all these superstitions ended, the inferences were being made that the diseases were because of some of the external factors which when removed will help the cause of the recovery from the disease. Some of these beliefs were that of the high blood pressure of a person was due to the fact that the quantity of blood in the body has increased, and thus in order to rectify this diagnosis the person was to bleed, and in the process was hurt in such a way that sometimes when a patient died it became difficult to identify that whether it was because of the disease or the methods undertaken to cure the disease.
